GameDay Announces Partnership with British Wheelchair Basketball
GameDay, the global leader in sports technology solutions, today announced a new partnership with British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB), the national governing body for wheelchair basketball in the United Kingdom.
Building on a strong company history and reputation in delivering to basketball governing bodies, the collaboration will see GameDay implement its innovative Passport platform to streamline BWB’s membership and competition management. The system will also manage all programmes, courses and accreditations, with the integrated Schedula officials management platform to enhance the allocation and management of match officials.
The partnership comes as BWB prepares to launch its enhanced membership structure and competition framework, aimed at growing participation and improving the overall experience for athletes, officials, and administrators across all levels of the sport. With all participant data flowing through GameDay’ssingle, integrated solution, BWB will also be utilising GameDay View, an advanced business intelligence tool, to gain a better in-depth understanding of the sport.
GameDay’s Senior Account Manager, Lilly Freeman, expressed her excitement with the partnership. “We’re delighted to partner with British Wheelchair Basketball to implement our Passport platform. This collaboration reflects GameDay’s commitment to creating accessible technology that empowers inclusive sport. Our solution will help BWB streamline operations for administrators and volunteers across the sport, while enhancing the experience for their entire community from grassroots to elite levels.”
GameDay’s Passport platform will provide BWB with comprehensive tools for all player and club registration, competition and event management, match and official scheduling, and reporting, creating a seamless digital experience for the wheelchair basketball community throughout Great Britain. The implementation is scheduled to go live in the coming weeks, with a phased rollout of features to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders.
James Craig, Commercial and Marketing Director at British Wheelchair Basketball, reiterated Lilly’s thoughts stating, “GameDay’s Passport platform is a perfect fit for our digital transformation needs. As we prepare to launch our new membership and competition framework, this partnership provides us with user-friendly technology that will simplify administration and improve engagement across all levels of wheelchair basketball in the UK.”
The partnership represents GameDay’s continued expansion in the Paralympic and inclusive sports sector, building on successful implementations with other national governing bodies across the globe and adding to existing UK partners across rugby league, field hockey, football, ice hockey, handball, snowsports and futsal.
For more information about the implementation timeline and upcoming features, BWB members should watch for communications from British Wheelchair Basketball in the coming days.
BWB members can expect further communications about the implementation timeline and upcoming changes in due course. All clubs and delivery partners will be trained on the system across the summer to ensure a strong start to the next exciting season of wheelchair basketball.
