GameDay help recognise worthy winners at VicSport Awards
Disability Sport & Recreation’s Ayden Shaw scooped the GameDay Sports Administrator of the Year – Eunice Gill Award at the recent 2021 VicSport Awards.
The event took place at CENTREPIECE, Melbourne Park, on Wednesday 15 June, and was attended by GameDay Ecosystem and Partnerships Manager Arran Batish and Director of Customer Success Jorge Hadjitelemachou.
The Victorian Sport Awards is the night of nights for the Victorian sporting community, recognising and celebrating participants, teams, coaches, administrators and the volunteers behind the scenes who have made an outstanding contribution across all levels of sport in Victoria.
The GameDay Sports Administrator of the Year – Eunice Gill Award was one of 20 awards handed out in total.
We are proud supporters of the event and were delighted to be part of such a special occasion.
Continuing to drive an agenda for change at Disability Sport & Recreation (DSR), Ayden achieved outstanding results in 2021.
He oversaw successful applications for ‘Together More Active’ and ‘Working For Victoria’ funding, renewed major sponsorship for the City of Melbourne Event Partnerships program, secured new partnerships with Reclink Australia and SOLVE Disability Solutions and delivered in-person events such as the DSR Festival and DSR Awards.
Managing government relationships during the Covid-19, Ayden also helped secure interstate travel for the Wheelchair Rugby Nationals, which was critical in preparing the athletes for the Tokyo Olympics.
Ayden’s mother accepted the award on his behalf on the night.
We would like to congratulate Ayden and each of the other award nominees for their continued hard work across Victoria.
Michaela Cook (Hockey Victoria)
Tanya Gamble (Netball Victoria)
Ayden Shaw (Disability Sport & Recreation – WINNER)
Gabriella Tobias (Tennis Victoria)
