Australian Flying Disc Association Teams Up with GameDay
The Australian Flying Disc Association (AFDA) and GameDay is thrilled to announce a new partnership, to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance membership, competition, and event management across the sport.
AFDA will be implementing GameDay’s Passport Registrations, Competitions, and Live Scoring products that aim to streamline operations and improve the experience for players, officials, and administrators. In addition, AFDA is set to launch a brand-new website through Stack Commerce, further enhancing its digital presence as part of the broader Stack Sports ecosystem.
This partnership comes at a pivotal time for AFDA, which was recently recognised as a funded sport through the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) – a significant milestone that will help drive the continued growth and development of flying disc sports in Australia. AFDA’s inclusion as a funded sport underlines its increasing national recognition, enabling greater access to resources, development programs, and grassroots support. The funding will contribute to initiatives such as coach education, athlete pathways, and the expansion of national competitions, reinforcing AFDA’s commitment to growing the sport at all levels.
Kosta Dokolas, Sports Specialist at GameDay, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership – “We’re excited to be working with AFDA to support the ongoing growth of flying disc sports in Australia. By implementing GameDay’s industry-leading solutions, AFDA will be able to manage registrations, competitions, and live scoring efficiently while also strengthening their online presence through Stack Commerce.”
AFDA President, Craig Savage, highlighted the benefits this collaboration brings to the sport – “With increased requirements for data handling, privacy, and reporting, it’s more important than ever to invest in tools and technology to further support our commitment to the growth, development, and support of our sport and community. Partnering with GameDay allows us to align our operations with the AFDA Flight Path and with the ASC Play Well Strategy. We look forward to seeing the impact this partnership will have on the future of flying disc sports in Australia.”
The integration of GameDay’s solutions aims to enhance AFDA’s flexibility, efficiency, and insights across player engagement, competition management, and event execution, all while ensuring improved privacy measures. With the addition of a new website through Stack Commerce, AFDA aims to offer a more dynamic and user-friendly platform for the flying disc community.
