GameDay selects Stripe to power payment solutions
GameDay, a market leader in the provision of sports and event software to customers throughout Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the wider APAC and EMEA markets, has selected Stripe to create a unified payments solution, in order to streamline customer onboarding, online payments and payouts, enhance the user experience and support the diverse needs of customers now and into the future.
We will take you through the challenge that GameDay faced, the solution and subsequent impact and results following their collaboration with Stripe, along with a preview of what is planned for the future.
Challenge
GameDay supports organisations to run their sports and events by providing solutions to manage memberships, collect payments for individual and team-based registrations along with event entry, ticketing, online shop purchases, course enrolments and much more. There was a need for GameDay to support a number of payment-related requirements to:
- Facilitate online payments, refunds & subscription-based payments on behalf of customers in multiple currencies
- Onboard customers through the KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements to ensure compliance with regulations in each country where GameDay has customers
- Automate payout to customers in their local currency to ensure regular cash-flow
- Facilitate settlement payouts to multiple organisations from a single transaction
- Provide GameDay and its customers with robust PCI compliance, fraud management and anti-money laundering (AML) checks
- Facilitate the payment of subscription-based B2B payments to GameDay for self-service customer plans
- Bring to market the latest payment solutions and opportunities for growth
GameDay provides these solutions to all tiers of a sports hierarchy from International and National level governing bodies down to local sports leagues, associations, clubs and teams. In the majority of transactions, GameDay solutions support the payment of multiple fees and products from various levels of the hierarchy within the same transaction with the need to then facilitate settlement and payout of those funds to multiple organisations that are part of that transaction.
Common to grassroots sports organisations which make up the majority of GameDay’s userbase, many are operated by volunteers, so it was essential for GameDay to implement payment solutions that are user-friendly, flexible and capable of handling these unique financial needs.
Solution
To address these challenges, GameDay selected Stripe to build a unified payments solution. This collaboration streamlines customer onboarding, facilitates online payments and payouts, enhances the user experience, while supporting the diverse needs of GameDay and its customers now and into the future covering membership, event entry, ticketing, course & program enrolment, online shop plus much more.
