The Allan Labor Government is making it easier for Victorian families to cover the costs of sports and recreational activities, with thousands more $200 vouchers available to help children across the state with the Get Active Kids Voucher Program. Families can now seamlessly redeem these vouchers online through GameDay, providing a simple and efficient way to get more kids involved in the sports they love.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence recently announced an additional $3 million in funding for the Get Active Kids Voucher Program, following overwhelming demand from parents. Since its launch in 2020, the program has provided over 150,000 vouchers, with more than half of recipients stating their kids would not have been able to participate in sports without the financial support. With round eight now open, more families than ever can apply, ensuring children across Victoria have the opportunity to stay active this summer.

These vouchers are available for eligible families holding health care cards or concession cards and can be used to cover costs like sports memberships, registration fees, uniforms, and equipment. Children aged 18 and under who are named on a Commonwealth Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Medicare Card are eligible. Additionally, a special consideration stream exists for children in care, temporary or provisional visa holders, migrants, and international students.

GameDay offers an integrated platform to make voucher redemption simple for parents and guardians. Families can redeem vouchers through both GameDay and Passport platforms, allowing for flexibility and convenience when applying vouchers towards sports fees and related expenses.

GameDay’s Support Centre provides step-by-step instructions on how to redeem these vouchers – either through the GameDay or Passport platforms.

With more than 70 sports and over 2,100 activity providers across the state, the Get Active Kids Voucher Program ensures Victorian children can participate in various activities, from soccer to swimming and dance. Local sporting clubs and providers are ready to welcome young athletes, making this a valuable opportunity for families to explore different options and interests.

Families interested in applying for a Get Active Kids voucher can do so online. For more details, eligibility requirements, and to apply, visit the official program website.
