Product Update: Looking ahead for 2025
An update from GameDay’s Director of Product; Mark Pititto
We’re already into February, where has the time gone!? Since our first week back at the start of January, we’ve been busy continuing development of a number of new features and enhancements (and of course providing resolutions through our weekly releases).
While product roadmaps will change and adapt to changing priorities throughout the year ahead, I’d like to take you through some key roadmap items for the year ahead – many of which are already in various stages of development, scoping or planning, and some that are in the information gathering and validation stage where your input will be valuable in helping to shape the prioritisation of these features.
In 2024, we had over 150 product releases across our products, which included 36 major roadmap items, 200+ general enhancements and over 80 C2C program requests which came from direct input from our customers. In 2025, we will continue to listen to you, our customers and users to shape the roadmap and ensure we build the features that you want most, so please keep providing us with feedback (good, bad or otherwise) via the various channels through NPS surveys, in-app and online feedback forms, via the GameDay Community C2C Program and via our online review sites – it does not go unnoticed and we encourage more of it!
Some of the features in the roadmap that I’d like to highlight are listed below:
New & Improved Member Profiles
This month, we’ll be releasing both a new Member Profile Portal for GameDay Events & Membership customers and improved Member Profile Portal for GameDay Competitions & Membership customers using Passport. Some features include the ability to Pay for any unpaid orders, access key details such as paid order history, resend receipts and event tickets along with an easy to use mobile-first user interface.
Instalment Payments + Subscription-based Memberships
These new payment options aim to help support families with managing payment of memberships over a period of time rather than up-front payment in full via instalment payment options, along with providing organisations the option to offer subscription-based memberships which is becoming a more commonly accepted approach to becoming a member of an organisation in grassroots sport in many markets;
These new payments methods will provide greater flexibility in collecting payments further outlined below;
- Instalment payments to support incremental payment of an order spread over multiple payments for a set period of time (ie monthly instalments over 6 months)
- Subscription-based memberships to allow members to pay on a rolling monthly or annual subscription
Link Wallet Payments + Direct Debit
GameDay is continually evaluating various payment options across various markets our customers operate.
In 2025, we are planning to introduce Link Wallet Payments powered by Stripe along with BACS Bank Transfers for UK customers transacting in British Pounds and SEPA Bank Transfers for Euro currency payment options to further support our EMEA customers. In late 2024, we released BECS Direct Debit for customers transacting in Australian & New Zealand dollars which has been well received.
This is in addition to the payment options already available via Credit/Debit Card for major card networks (MasterCard, Visa & American Express), Apple Pay & Google Pay across all currencies. GameDay will provide further updates when these additional payment methods are rolled out.
Now to some platform specific roadmap items;

GameDay Events & Membership
Duplicate Management + Member Management Enhancements
This one has been on the cards for a while now, and while we would have liked to have released this during 2024, we had to do some groundwork in order to best support the ability to identify, review, and resolve duplicate profiles. We’re making some further updates to the way member profiles are managed along with the capability for the system to identify possible duplicates with the ability to review and resolve duplicate member profiles individually or in bulk – we’re aiming for this to be available in early Q2 2025.
Daily Update Email
Administrators have asked for improved notifications for new registrations and orders, so we’re building a daily update email which admin users will be able to subscribe to for each organisation they are an administrator for – keep an eye out for this one during Q1 2025.
Online Shop
We’ve heard the feedback from our users that they love the concept of add-on products which allow you to sell merchandise, equipment and collect donations as part of the membership or event registration flow, however you’d like to be able to sell these products outside of the registration process – so we’re building an online shop feature which will allow you to create your own online shop, manage your inventory, provide pick-up or delivery options and a whole lot more – keep an eye out for this is the second half of 2025.
Events & Ticketing Enhancements
We’ve collected a lot of feedback from customers about what they would like to see in the next major release for Events. We’ve continued to invest in our Events & Ticketing solutions with general enhancements, but we’re excited to share that we’re planning on making some major updates to the Events & Ticketing functionality – the exciting part is, we’ll be putting it back in the hands of our event customers to help us prioritise which features make the cut for this round of updates – we’ll be in contact most likely via an in-app survey in the next month or so so we can look to plan this out for the second half of 2025.

Passport Competitions & Membership
Refunds Functionality
GameDay will be looking to improve the refund process for customers on Passport Competitions & Membership. This will look to replicate the refund functionality on GameDay Events & Membership and will support the ability for an organisation to process refunds for transactions directly to members and participants from Passport including the ability for full or partial refunds – we’re aiming for this to be released in the coming weeks.
Organisation Registration & Affiliation
Governing bodies have told us they’d like a more streamlined way to onboard new organisations along with handling collection of annual affiliation fees and other ad hoc fees so we’re looking at ways to streamline and improve this process to ensure it can all be handled within the platform in a streamlined experience. We’re looking to roll this out initially on Passport Competitions & Membership in the first half of this year.
