Why Little Athletics NSW took their registrations online

GameDay is proud to have worked successfully with Little Athletics NSW for over a decade.

Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian sport for children aged 5-16 years. It is based upon the sport of athletics (track and field), and the events are specially modified to suit the ages and abilities of the children involved.

A wide range of running, jumping, throwing and walking events are conducted by the organisation on a regular basis.

Centred around their three core principles – family, fun and fitness – approximately 40,000 boys and girls are now able to enjoy the activities that Little Athletics has to offer each year.

To meet the growing demand for their services, Little Athletics NSW enlisted the support of GameDay, and we have been successfully working together for a number of years ever since.

The Little Athletics NSW team are also tasked with supporting individual centres with any queries they may have, in relation to setting up products or creating events.

So, what made them decide to embrace GameDay’s market-leading software?

“We’ve been with GameDay now for about 10 years or so. When we first started, we made all the registrations go online,” said Trish Bright, Little Athletics NSW registration and online data coordinator.

“We didn’t want to accept paper registrations – firstly because it was a waste of paper, but a lot of the times the centres themselves were forgetting to send us our money.

“With our registrations, we’ve got a state fee which covers them for insurance and everything else, and then there’s another fee that covers them for their centre side of things.

“If they didn’t do it online, they’d forget to send us our money, so we made it compulsory that it was all online.”
