In Focus: Hong Kong Rugby Union

Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU) is the governing body for rugby union played in the country. Founded in 1952, HKRU have been an affiliate of World Rugby (formerly the International Rugby Board) since 1988.  The union organises the world-renowned Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, as well as its own domestic leagues across all age groups, genders and standards of play. GameDay supports the organisation with its online ecosystem. Recently, HKRU's youth competitions returned after a COVID-enforced absence, with all players registered with the GameDay platform to ensure they remained safe upon their return to action.  We caught up with HKRU Chief Community Officer Rocky Chow, who oversees all domestic rugby within Hong Kong. The age of 4K content Global Media organisation MediaKind have teamed up with New Digital Technology to enable the delivery of high-quality recorded 4K content for Beijing Radio & Television's (BTV) winter sporting events channel. What is your sport of choice as a spectator? Tennis, athletics, AFL and cricket. Are there any sporting activities that you like to participate in? Tennis. Who is your sporting hero and why? Steve Waugh as he is super cool under pressure. What is your favourite sporting memory or experience? The Sydney 2000 Olympics. Describe a normal working day for you in four sentences or less… A normal working day is challenging, interesting, unpredictable and rewarding. What is your favourite way to relax? Watching Star Trek on Netflix (the original series). Do you have any pets? No pets but there is a possum living in my roof. Favourite band/musician? Dire Straits.  What is something you want to achieve in 2021? See the Collingwood Magpies win the 2021 AFL Premiership.

General Update: GameDay Social Media Handles

We are pleased to announce that GameDay's social media channels have undergone a realignment process to support uniformity across all platforms. From this point, GameDay's Facebook , Twitter and Instagram platforms can all be found using the handle @GameDayStack.  This social realignment is part of our wider rebranding from SportsTG to GameDay, which was announced at the beginning of March .  The overall rebrand has enabled GameDay to refresh and align multiple product offerings under the same banner. In Focus: Australian Underwater Federation

The Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) is the governing body for underwater sports and amateur diving in Australia.  An accredited member of Sport Australia, they act as the umbrella organisation for a number of different disciplines and recreations, including underwater hockey, spearfishing, fin swimming and underwater rugby. AUF recently moved to GameDay's latest membership and events platform, where all registrations are now managed . Graham Henderson, President of the Australian Underwater Federation, said: "The Australian Underwater Federation has recently upgraded to the GameDay Platform.  "This platform offers our organisation greater flexibility to deal with members' needs. Our March 2021 releases related to the following: New features: New and updated design for Schedula, Passport and Registration forms Ability for organisations to choose their own colours for their registration forms Added additional ways for members to purchase products when registering; Apple Pay, Google Pay and Open Pay. Functionality changes: Organisation team sheet changes Sport specific registration form changes Resolved issues: Multiple transactions were being generated when some members registered using the NSW Active Kids Vouchers  Form colours set at a higher level were disappearing when forms were edited at lower levels. Unlimited Conditional Fields (UCFs) were not able to be used when setting conditional fields on registration forms. School search within registration forms were returning unable to be searched properly

Product Announcement: Gender Identity Capability

As part of our partnership with Pride in Sport , GameDay is proud to announce that our products will soon support the collection of gender identity data across the product suite wherever gender data is collected. This will support the great work that organisations such as Pride in Sport in Australia are doing to make sport more inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community, along with its founding partners and member organisations, many of which are our major customers - click here for a list of member organisations. The first phase of this implementation will see updated terminology and input fields to better capture information, as well as represent and include people of diverse genders and sexualities. It will also integrate more inclusive gender identity fields into applicable registration forms, member lists, member profile screens, reports and dashboards.  These changes have been scoped in accordance with Pride in Sport recommended sexuality and gender indicators guidelines available here:

Today we'll be finding out more about Senior EMEA Sport Specialist Dan Bignell .  When did you join the GameDay team? October 2017. What is your sport of choice as a spectator? Football, Golf, Boxing, MMA. Are there any sporting activities that you like to participate in? Football, Golf, Running and Snowboarding. Who is your sporting hero and why? Tiger Woods - a man who single-handedly changed the way the entire world sees the sport he dominated for so long. He persevered through prejudice and misjudgement with consummate discipline and hard work. Product Announcement: UI/UX update to GameDay

Closely aligned to our recent rebrand to GameDay, our latest GameDay Membership & Events solution will undertake a refresh of its own. This will encompass a new-look user interface (UI) and an exciting new user experience (UX) for customers using GameDay Membership & Events and all additional modules that are part of the platform. In Focus: School Sport Victoria

Established over a decade ago, School Sport Victoria (SSV) have been working with GameDay to develop their membership and events capabilities. With a team of around 16 people, the organisation works with over 2,500 primary and secondary schools across the Australian state, covering a number of individual and team sports.  Ian Landy, National Programmes Manager, has been part of SSV for 15 years, working across different areas of the business. Now, his main duties include selecting and offering gifted students the opportunity to try out for, and represent, the state of Victoria (Team Vic) in national competition.  We caught up with him to discuss the challenges faced by SSV, and their experiences using the GameDay system.  "The challenge [for us] is managing those 2,500 schools and 10,000 school sports events across the year," he said.
